The Kiwanis BUG Chase 5K Run is a race to benefit the Bring Up Grades programs in local Lee County elementary schools and other Fort Myers Metro-McGregor Kiwanis club sponsored children’s projects. The race is held each year in January at the Calusa Nature Center & Planetarium. Kiwanis Bring Up Grades, or ‘BUG’, is a program designed to provide recognition to students who raise their grades to an acceptable range and maintain or continue to raise them from one grading period to the next. We sponsor a recognition program at multiple elementary schools for BUG students, providing certificates and snacks during the ceremony.
